Professor and author Marlena Graves, communicator and former pastor Mario Alejandre, and author Michelle Van Loon have been dreaming together of a cohort-based learning communityβone that embraces a holistic approach to belonging, formation, and action as followers of Jesus.
We know there are spiritually-hungry people who may currently feel like "church refugees" seeking to walk the narrow way of Jesus. Others may be active in a congregation but are looking for a deeper, committed community to nurture and challenge their faith.
We are in the early stages of seeking input from spiritual pilgrims like you and prayerfully considering how we might respond to what we're hearing.

Macrina the Younger (AD 327-379) was a teacher, nun, and one of the mothers of the early monastic movement. She was the older sister of church leaders Basil the Great, Gregory of Nyssa, and Peter of Sebaste. In his writings, Gregory credited her for her grounded teaching and spiritual influence in his life She chose a life of chastity, humility, poverty, and service, founding a convent on her family's estate. Macrina is honored as a saint in the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Lutheran, and Anglican traditions.
During a time when the church was going through a major transition, Macrina cultivated a community of learning, prayer, and service rooted in her love for God and neighbor. Her deep commitment to walk in the way of Jesus inspires us today as we navigate seismic shifts in both church and culture. .
